I’m so excited about my FET #2 cycle at 42 and half years old!! You can read about how FET #1 went. The baseline appointment was the first in this series. This is the second post in the FET #2 series. It happened on a Wednesday and this is posted on the following Saturday for reference.
My appointment was on October 18, 2023 to check the lining of my uterus by a transvaginal ultrasound. Since the baseline appointment, I’ve been taking (3) 2mg pills of Estradiol to thicken the linking of my uterus for two weeks. This appointment would confirm if my uterus was ready and if the transfer would be on schedule.
For the Estradiol to perform their best, they told me to take the medication at the same time every night. Honestly, I didn’t. I took them anywhere from the 8:30 pm to 9:15 pm. Because of my inconsistency, I assumed my lining wouldn’t be great and the transfer would be pushed back a week.
My husband met me at my office and we went to the appointment from there. We didn’t wait long until I heard the famous words, “undress from the waist down.” There were two girls that came in this time. The girl working the ultrasound was was the trainee which is always fun. She couldn’t find my left ovary. The trainer said that my lining looked great, and I was an over achiever. What a relief!
TEST | MY RESULTS | CLINIC’S DESIRED |
---|---|---|
Endometrium | 9 mm | 6 mm |
I’m suppose to continue the Estradiol until Friday, then I go down to only (2) 2mg pills and start the 1 ml of progesterone oil injections which was last night. I’m a recovering fainter, so I assumed I wouldn’t do ANY of the injections. For my last transfer my husband said he would do the first injection and then asked me if I wanted to stay afraid or have a baby. I changed my mind that instant! I’ve been doing all my own shots ever since. I like to FaceTime my mom when I do the injections. It’s a nice distraction from the fear, and I’ve started that tradition this time too. My first shot is in the books!
The transfer of our second embryo is confirmed on October 25, 2023 in four days.
