WELCOME! This is episode one of the podcast.
This show is for the women over 40 trying to conceive or is currently pregnant. You might feel like all of your friends are done having kids. Are you looking for others that are pregnant in their 40’s?
I’m Jamie Massey, your host and voice of Over 40 Fabulous and pregnant. I’m currently 41 and not pregnant. While your first thought might that sounds a little strange. I’ve been pregnant twice. The first was a miscarriage and the second was entoptic pregnant. I ended up having surgery to remove my left tube because it caused internal bleeding. During that short time, I felt alone and wanted to find others that were pregnant over 40. I want to give you the suppose and community I was looking for. Our story isn’t over yet, though. I will be over 40 fabulous and pregnant.
I’m also a homesteader in Fort Worth Texas and have a full time job as an architectural project manager at a firm in Fort Worth. Funny, both my husband and I went to Texas Tech University to get the same degree, but we didn’t know each other.
I created the podcast with a goal to create a community of woman who are pregnant in their 40’s. I want to create a safe space where woman can be uncensored about the ups and downs of pregnancy. I want to share woman’s pregnancy journey of those that went before us to give courage, inspire and create friendships while we go through this together.
When I was going through this I hesitated sharing my story on social media. I didn’t want pity and I didn’t want anyone to feel sorry for me. I ended up breaking down and sharing my story. And the reactions I got were so uplifting. I received so many messages from woman that this person got pregnant with one tube and my mom only has one tube and one ovary. It was the stories that helped me move forward.
And that’s exactly what you can expect in future episodes. I feel absolutely empowered after I hear another woman’s successful pregnancy journey in their 40’s, and I hope you do too.
I’m a true hippie at heart, so I want to explore alternatives to educated myself on all options there are out there. I’m someone who likes to know all of my options before deciding what is best for me even if it’s ‘out-there’ idea. It makes me feel confident I made the right decision. You can’t decide if it’s the right choice for you if you don’t know it’s an option.
Finally, I can’t wait to share my pregnancy journey and just how fabulous it is going to be. When we get pregnant, I want to share what all of it. I do share a little bites here and there in the podcast for listens only.

Listen: I’m not one to keep up with the hottest gossip. Like don’t even ask me who is in what movie. It’s just not my thing. However, when I was feeling a deflated about having kids in my 40’s, a co-worker quickly stated, “There’s lots of celebrities that have been pregnant in their 40’s.” And just like that, I felt better already needed to do a little more digging to feel even better. They might have an extra advantage of being over 40, fabulous and pregnant but it’s still my goal.
